Foundry Platform (Palantir) production support vacancy for our Zurich based client in the technological sector.
Your experience/skills:
- Extensive experience of Linux and Unix Administration and bash Scripting
- Solid knowledge of Cloudera Hadoop components such as HDFS, Sentry, HBase, Impala, Hue, Spark, Hive, YARN, ZooKeeper and Postgres
- In-depth knowledge of non-root installation with fully integrated AD/Kerberos authentication
- Comfort with large scale production systems and technologies like load balancing, monitoring, distributed systems as well as incident, change and configuration management
- Languages: English, fluent in written and spoken
Your tasks:
- Working with data delivery teams to setup new Hadoop clusters as well as cluster maintenance and creation and removal of nodes using tools like Cloudera Manager Enterprise
- Monitoring Hadoop cluster connectivity and security, followed by managing Troubleshooting and reviewing Hadoop log files
- Setting up disaster recovery on Cloudera cluster including HDFS, HBase, Spark coupled with workload management, load balancing, quota management of the Cloudera cluster
- Teaming with the infrastructure, network, database, application and Business Intelligence teams to guarantee high data quality and availability
- Collaborating with application teams to install Hadoop updates, patches and aligning with the engineering team to propose and deploy new hardware and software environments required for Hadoop
