DB2 Developer / DB2 Engineer
Location: Zurich, Switzerland
Duration: 6 months
Start Date: ASAP

Mandatory: The person must:
• Have a good understanding of the relational database theory
• Have a good understanding of how ETL processes should work in general
• Be able to read and write advanced SQL (in any DBMS)
• Be able to comfortably work in a UNIX system (using ssh/sftp)
• Have some knowledge of shell script, perl, python or other modern programming languages (not just COBOL or PL/I)
• Be able to solve complicated technical problems without cognitive biases (i.e. based on concrete evidence like error messages, log files, etc.)
• Have excellent technical writing and oral communication skills in English
• Have principles of doing the right things

Desirable: The person could:
• Have good knowledge of DB2 on AIX (ideally V11.1 or later)
• Have experiences of using ETL tools in data warehouse systems
• Have a good sense of aesthetics in writing code and coding styles
• Have a good understanding of the importance of software development process based on experiences of developing large scale software products
• Have some experiences of supporting applications in production systems
• Have interests in the latest technologies such as cloud, analytics, etc.
• Be able to learn new concepts and skills quickly
• Be obsessed with efficiency and productivity
• Be able to understand and speak other languages, especially German
