My client is a nonprofit organization based in Berlin. They run an information website for consumers with a focus on privacy and security on smartphones. They are currently developing a test-system, to analyse network traffic of Android-apps during runtime. The system is beeing developed by three dedicated freelance developers in an open source approach. Most code is in python.In order to test apps during runtime, my client needs to generate user-interaction automatically. This is done by instrumenting an Android-emulator with Appium. Appium is then operated by an application my client has developed. This application analyzes the xml-structure of each app-page and then decides, where to click. The application is already running, but needs improvement.
Work will include:
Setup my clients system in your work environment. They will allow for one workday and support from their team to do this
Get familiar with the application that is doing the user-interaction. They will set up one "workshop-day" with their main developer to do this
Add new handlers to the application in order to handle special situations in apps. Once you are set up we expect you to produce 2 - 3 simple handlers per workday.
You will be briefed in detail on what handler to work on and you will be provided with app-examples to test your work.
An additional task will be to implement some APIs.
What you should bring: Good python-skills, good Appium skills and a strong interest in privacy and Android
