The Security Cloud Engineer, reporting to Director, Cloud Engineering, will contribute to the development, adoption, and governance of the NIBR cloud environment. The NIBR cloud environment provides AWS, GCP, and Azure services to support the diverse informatics needs of biomedical science. The ideal candidate will have real-world success in designing and delivering AWS solutions at scale. The ideal candidate will use their expertise in Cloud, Cloud Security and software security, DevOps, networking technologies and database design to design and deliver a best-in-class cloud experience to NIBR scientists. The candidate will mainly focus on documenting how NIBR is enforcing security controls in AWS Cloud at platform level and also for each AWS service NIBR is allowing in the cloud.Responsibilities include:
• Documentation of security requirements, platform design documents and service design documents for the safe usage of AWS cloud services
• Cross-functional leadership in using cloud-native tools to deliver on security goals
• The design, development, and delivery of secured, scalable, reliable and trustworthy AWS solutions
• Defining and driving the adoption of cloud services and SDLC best practices at NIBR
• Ownership of the tooling and processes to automate cloud resource management
• Collaboration with other architecture functions within our enterprise IT organization
• Participation in the software engineering activities of our partners and collaborators
• Assisting in all aspects of service management, including the definition and collection of metrics and KPIs
What you’ll bring to the role:
• Demonstrable expertise in the field of AWS software engineering and Security
• Knowledge of [Turbot|https://turbot.com/] and Turbot Guardrails
• Ability to decompose, analyze and rearchitect existing software solutions
• In-depth expertise in cloud networking technologies such as VPCs, DCX, and TGW.
• Mastery of one or more scripting languages, mastery of one or more declarative languages
Desirable requirements:
• 7+ years of software engineering experience
• 4+ years designing and implementing cloud solutions
• Cloud certifications such as AWS Certified Security Specialty, Solutions architect.
• Significant experience in AWS security, Security certifications such as CISSP, CEH, CISA would be an advantage
• Significant experience in implementing security compliance standards (corporate-specific, HIPAA, CIS, NIST, PCI-DSS)
• Experience in working with agile methodologies
• Fluency in English (verbal/written)
