We are searching for an outstanding Enterprise Monitoring engineer to work with developers to monitor, optimize, trouble-shoot, and gain operational insights for their applications and operations. The engineer is a self-starter and will help build our distributed tracing environment, architect, implement, maintain performance monitoring solutions, and define best practices for the developers. Essential Job Functions: • Build and maintain end-to-end distributed tracing environment using Jaeger, Zipkin, or similar products. • Architect, implement, and maintain monitoring solutions for applications and infrastructure using tools such as Grafana, Prometheus, Nagios, Zabbix, Selenium, or Sitespeed. • Provide best practices to guide developers and systems administrators on how to use the tools. • Perform cyclical maintenance and updates of the operational landscape (upgrades, patches, etc.) • Create complex reports, dashboards, and customized views based on business requirements • Automate service delivery to promote self service. • Evaluate monitoring tools in the market, perform POC, recommend tools that could be useful to the teams, and deploy it to production. • Create and maintain appropriate documentation describing hardware setups, diagrams, etc., Educational Qualifications and Experience: • Education: Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or Engineering • Role Specific Experience: 3+ years of monitoring experience with thorough knowledge and understanding of Enterprise Monitoring Systems, Application Performance Monitoring, and Distributed Tracing. • Experience with deploying Jaeger, Zipkin, git, Nagios, Zabbix, Prometheus, Selenium, or Sitespeed. • Ability to develop scripts leveraging API’s and Linux tools and shell scripting to integrate products • Experience in automating administrative tasks using scripting languages like PowerShell, Python, Shell script, etc., • Experience in DevOps workflows and common CI/CD tools (Azure DevOps, Jenkins, etc.) • Experience with Splunk or big data analysis • Good knowledge of enterprise systems, networking, TCP/IP • Good understanding and knowledge of networking, web and cloud technologies • Strong knowledge of Active Directory, LDAP, SiteMinder, DNS, Networking, Load balancers and security principles. • Ability to prioritize and complete multiple tasks under pressure without direct supervision, working both independently and with a team • Professional presence, with an ability to interact with contractor and staff team members • Excellent verbal and written communications skills in English
