For our client, a Swiss Bank, we are looking for a Big Data Administrator for a long term project (6 months with extension intension) in the Zurich area, Switzerland.

We're looking for someone like you who can help us:
- administrate the Big Data platform based on IBM Power Systems
- engineer and operate of the platform from a technology point of view
- work in collaboration with Big Data Engineering and DevOps
- maintain and continually improve project infrastructure
- implement core Big Data platform capabilities
- control and monitor the platform performance and capacity
- ensure Big Data platform availability
- engage in the development of a new platform
Your team
You'll be working in close association to the Advanced Analytics (Big Data Analytics) team in Zürich. We offer you a highly motivated and experienced team with in-depth knowledge about Advanced Analytics, building models and algorithms. Our goal is to enable the Business' for a digital and analytical future! You'll operate and maintain the whole platform end to end and work closely with the development teams. This role includes significant responsibilities and development possibilities.
You have:
- Bachelor's degree in computer science, computer engineering, management information systems, related discipline or equivalent experience
- at least 3-5 years of experience in a Hadoop administration and/or support role
- at least 3-5 years of experience with Linux system systems administration, monitoring, and troubleshooting and Scripting skills
- familiar with specific characteristics of the Hortonworks/Cloudera stack
- several years of experience with xCAT (Extreme Cloud Administration Toolkit)
- several years of experience with automated deployment tools like Ansible or Puppet
- Experience with IBM Whatson Studio Local, Apache Knox & Ranger
- Experience with IBM DB2 is a plus
- Experience with IBM Power Systems is a plus
- Experienced in implementing complex security requirements in the financial industry
- Expert understanding of ETL principles and how to apply them within Hadoop is a plus
- good abstraction and conceptual skills combined with a self-reliant, team-minded, communicative, proactive personality
