Lab Manager Co- Worker (m/w/d) - 50%/education/ laboratory/english /german

Project:
For our customer Hoffman La Roche in Basel we are looking for a highly qualified Lab Manager Co- Worker

Background:
The manager of this position holds a special position where she oversee lab supplies and overall management. A lot of the role is to be involved with waste management & lab supply management. The contractor will be learning and working closely with the manager. This is a very new position & department where there is a lot to do and to create.

We are looking for a junior graduate eager to learn, to create new processes and develop new ways of managing labs supplies & waste. This is NOT a lab position, this is as a support to labs. A strong understanding of laboratory environment is however needed to be able to work in a safe manner (Biosafety level 2). Depending on the candidates' performance, the position can evolve. This will only be possible once the successful candidate has shown his/her motivation and capability to learn.

Job description:
- Placing and expediting orders for project-specific reagents and biological samples in consultation with research associates. Verifying receipt of supplies. Looking for better prices.
- Organizing / creating shared consumables stocks. Maintaining optimal stock inventory level, anticipating needed supplies.
- Safety Health and Environment (SHE) responsible: managing regulatory compliance including institutional protocols and licenses related to biological and chemical safety. Waste management. Preparing WHRA and other inspections. Increasing the general safety level.
- Managing and updating SED and other inventories of lab equipment. Organizing service contracts and coordinating laboratory equipment maintenance.
- Infrastructure management: Serving as collecting point for space requests and infrastructure related issues.
- Ensuring that the laboratories are cleaned / sanitized and kept in an orderly manner in collaboration with Research Associates.
- Managing material / sample transfers with collaborating national and international research sites and external institutes.
- Working closely with team members to provide effective solutions to support research and quality objectives and implements quality assurance systems.
- Ensuring that lab personnel follows industry standards and safety regulations.

Education / requirements:
- Experience in managing and working in a research laboratory in close collaboration with research associates and scientists (bio or chem lab technician, BSc)
- Experience in regulatory compliance and laboratory safety
- Excellent English and German level
- Excellent analytical and organizational skills, attention to detail and diligent working behavior.
- Flexible personality and willingness to quickly address the challenges of everyday lab life.
- Team player with solution-oriented working style.
- Strong communication, interpersonal, and organizational skills.
- High degree of self-motivation, flexibility and ability to work independently.
