We are looking for an experienced Data Visualization Expert to help us create maximum value from data that we manage in our Umbrella landscape. In particular the data managed by the EDISON and Darwin applications, that address the root causes of issues with transparency of sample lifecycle and chain of custody management and the root causes of low data quality by harmonizing, automating and integrating the process in which clinical sample and biomarker data is acquired and integrated.
Please kindly note that there is already one possible candidate in interviews for this position. However, the Hiring Manager would like to receive additional candidates to compare and will take a final decision afterwards.

Workload: 80%
Work location: Basel
Remote: max. 1 day per week / prior approval needed
Travel: 5-10% (2-3x / year for workshops)

Tasks & Responsibilities
• Ability to work with large amounts of information and see the ‘bigger picture’
• Establish data visualization standards and develop new, cutting-edge tools
• Develop intuitive and attractive static and interactive data visualizations
• Distill quantitative and qualitative data to communicate compelling stories to diverse audiences
• Development of different types of visualization products
• Collaborate with multiple diverse groups and across diverse teams
Must Haves
• A PhD in a Data Visualization/Graphic Design discipline (****)
• 5y+ of experience as a data visualization expert (****)
• Strong software development skills (D3.js Typescript) (****)
• Experience with data visualization tools, such as D3.js, Plotly, HTML Canvas etc. (****)
• Proven experience working in a multicultural geographically distributed team (****)
• Strong analytical skills combined with conceptual thinking and structured working >• Strong communication skills
• Fluent in English
Nice to haves
• Experience with NoSQL databases, such as MongoDB
• Project-based work experience in the pharmaceutical industry
