Big Data Systems Engineer/DevOps (m/f/d)
With around 1100 employees and currently 500 freelance consultants, we support companies in implementing their IT projects.
For one of our customers in Switzerland -Tessin -Lake Lugano we are looking for a Big Data Systems Engineer/DevOps (m/f/d) on a freelance basis.
Aufgabenbeschreibung:

• Participate in the design and development of Big Data analytical applications from product

vision to
implementation

• The design, support and continuous enhancement of project infrastructure: data processing

pipelines,
Hadoop clusters, monitoring, continuous integration, etc.

• Investigation and resolution of performance and stability issues in production systems
• Consult developers on infrastructure issues (OS performance optimization, network bottlenecks,

storage
configuration, etc)

• Work with a team of software engineers, data analysts and QA engineers
• Collaboration with an international team including the customer’s IT services team

Anforderungen:

• Fluency in Unix/Linux OS administration: RHEL/CentOS is preferred
• Experience in scripting on Bash and any of Ruby, Python, Perl is required.
• Network administration, network protocols knowledge (TCP/IP, SSH, HTTP & etc)
• Experience in setting up and configuring common services: web (Apache/Nginx), dns, nfs, vpn,

ssh,
rsync, git server, etc.

• General knowledge of Linux kernel and hardware architecture
• Understanding of general programming concepts
• Desire and ability to quickly learn new tools and technologies
• Good communication skills and use of industry terminology in English

a must have:

• english fluently
• italian at least business fluent

What would be a plus:

• Experience with Hadoop stack (Hadoop MR, HBase, Pig, Hive, Flume)
• Experience with in-stream processing (Storm, Kafka, Cassandra or other technologies)
• Deployment or configuration automation experience (Chef, Puppet or other).
• Work with public clouds (Amazon, Google CE or other)
• Monitoring systems (Ganglia, Zabbix, Nagios, Graphite)
• Database/Data Warehouse administration experience
• Programming experience (C/C++, Java, Scala, Groovy)
• Version control systems: Git, Subversion.
• CI servers configuration (Hudson/Jenkins, Cruise Control)
