- Establishes IT Infrastructure environment with focus on Compute & Virtualization layers by designing system configuration; directing system installation; defining, documenting, and enforcing system standards
- Configure and install various IT Infrastructure components and services (eg, Servers, Blades, Compute fabric, Virtualization platform)
- Perform maintenance and system upgrades including service packs, patches, hot fixes, and security configurations
- Monitor system resource utilization, trending, and capacity planning
- Provide Level-2/3 support and troubleshooting to resolve issues
- Liaise with vendors and other IT personal for problem resolution.
- Work within established configuration and change management policies to ensure awareness, approval and success of changes made to the IT infrastructure
- Select and implement security tools, policies, and procedures in conjunction with the company's security team
- Reporting IT Infrastructure operational status by gathering, prioritizing information; managing projects
- Updates job knowledge by participating in educational opportunities; reading professional publications; maintaining personal networks; participating in professional organizations.

Requirements:
- Proven hands-on Compute & Virtualization engineering experience
- VCP (VMware vRealize Suite), CCNP DC or higher (Datacentre track)
- Deep understanding of Virtualization technologies (vSphere, ESXi, Open Stack)
- Deep understanding of Compute technologies (Cisco UCS, HP, Huawei)
- Deep understanding of Desktop Virtualization technologies (VMware Horizon)
- Good understanding of Storage technologies & Protocols (FC, IP, iSCSI, NFS)
- Good understanding of Storage technologies & Protocols (FC, IP, iSCSI, NFS)
- Good understanding of Networking technologies (L2, Access, Port Channel, Trunk, VLANs)
- Hands-on experience with monitoring, diagnostic and analytics tools such as VMware vRealize, Loginsight, Microsoft SCOM
Skills
Education:
- University degree in Computer Science or Engineering school (eg, FH, HF)
- VCP, CCNP (Datacentre track) certification
Experience: at least 8 years of experience in IT Infrastructure operation and management
Language: Fluent English, German is considered a plus
