IFRS 17 Accounting Analyst (100%) for 12 months

To support the IFRS 17 Life E2E process stream by performing general accounting operations relevant reporting, ensuring that accounting processes and procedures are followed and completed to support and reinforce key business objectives.

Key Accountabilities:

  • Work with the team to ensure that accounting processes and procedures are followed and completed to support and reinforce key business objectives.
  • Perform various types of reconciliation work to ensure high quality of IFRS 17 data
  • Support with documentation work the project team during IFRS 17 dry run
  • Perform or review close related ledger tasks, eg accruals, provisions, journals postings.
  • Perform and review SOX controls in line with Group internal guidelines.
  • Analysis of IFRS 17 Group chart of account
  • Other project administration work

Business Accountabilities:

  • Assist Finance, Accounting & Reporting to develop IFRS 17 accounting standard
  • Crosschecking data and documentation
  • Research primary financial data sources
  • Research best practice and review and analyse detailed business models to support senior management in developing and improving Finance, Accounting & Reporting processes and systems by testing of new solutions relevant to Finance, Accounting & Reporting.
  • Conducting process reviews and initiating change in order to contribute to continuous improvement of customer service for internal/external customers.

Performance Management Accountabilities:

  • Model behaviours that demonstrate commitment to corporate values.
  • Provide input into performance management discussions of project team members.
  • Provide guidance and support for team members.
  • Take action to manage own personal development and encourage others to do the same.

Education and Experience:

  • Commercial Apprenticeship preferred in Life insurance industry and 4 or more years of experience in accounting field
  • Bachelors degree (or equivalent) and 4 or more years of experience in accounting field

  • Accounting - Proficiency Level Advanced
  • Accounts Payable (A-P) - Proficiency Level Advanced
  • Accounts Receivable (A-R) - Proficiency Level Advanced
  • Financial and Accounting Systems - Proficiency Level Advanced
  • Financial Reporting - Proficiency Level Advanced
  • General Ledger (G-L) - Proficiency Level Advanced
  • Excel - Proficiency Level Advanced
  • Powerpoint - Proficiency Level Advanced
