Our financial client is seeking a PostgreSQL Consultant to work onsite in Zurich on a contract basis.
Below is the information that I have received from the Line manager for this position:
- We've recently initiated a new greenfield application stack that is essentially a PostgreSQL 11 warehouse, with an associated Java loader and data API.
- We've discovered that while PostgreSQL is great, we don't have a DBA, and that means that the development team has had to get up to speed on how to best code and configure our use of PostgreSQL to get our workloads to run fast enough.
- What we are looking for is a real PostgreSQL expert who can review what we have done so far, point out the deficiencies, and give recommendations for our future direction. I'm not sure how long that would take. We would pay market rate plus more for a real expert. There's likely to be repeat business in the future.
