Data Scientist - Zurich - 12 months
I am currently working with a well known Swiss business on the lookout for a Data Scientist for a new project they are just about to kick off. It is a long term project signed off for 12 months with the option to extend.
The primary focus will be in applying data mining techniques, doing statistical analysis and building high quality prediction models integrated. The ideal candidate is used to analyse large data sets, find opportunities to optimize processes, use models to test the effectiveness of different paths/actions.
Tasks
- Using state of the art Data Mining techniques
- Identify issues and propose solutions for effective decision making based on data
- Merge, manage, interrogate and extract data to supply tailored reports
- Use machine learning tools and statistical techniques to produce solutions
- Process, cleanse and verify the integrity of data used for analysis
- Create various machine learning-based tools such as automated lead/consumer scoring system.
Required Skills
- Experience in programming languages such as R or Python
- Strong database design and coding skills.
- Experience in using data mining/data analysis methods and building and implementing models
- Experience in using algorithms and creating and running simulations
- Proficiency in using database interrogation and analysis tools, such as Hadoop, SQL and SAS
- Prefer working in a collaborative, cross-team capacity.
- Data science tool kits (eg R, Weka, MatLab)
- Query languages (eg Hadoop, SQL and SAS)
- Data visualization tools (eg Power BI)
- English is a must, German is a plus
