We require an experienced HP Operations Manager Windows (OMW) Administer that is looking to work in a fully managed enterprise server environment. The OMW Windows Administrator provides hands-on day-to-day technical support for HP OMW, HP Performance Manager and HP Reporter which will be monitoring Windows, Citrix, VMware and UNIX systems. Basic Responsibilities and Objectives Include:
Provide technical support and documentation for HP Operations Manager Windows and related HP Tools that will monitor over 300+ Windows both physical and virtual (VMWARE ESX) and Citrix XenApp systems and 70+ Unix Solaris 10 systems.
Support the rapid deployment of OMW and OVPA agents and verify the agent health
Experience generating alerts and feeding the data up into HP OMW and HP Service Desk/Service Manager.
Support Windows system management including all aspects of server administration
Support x86 Blade and rack mount servers. Install/Troubleshoot/Replace hardware or firmware as necessary.
Work with users to troubleshoot and solve operational issues. Responsible for coordinating recovery of OMW, Performance Manager, Reporter and Windows Servers in the event of system failure.
Maintain Microsoft Windows Server operating systems and all components/services including AD, DNS, NTFS, DHCP, PRINT SERVICES, FTP, TCP/IP, Citrix and others.
Provide operating system level support to application developers and performing server migrations into to new datacenters.
Responsible for maintaining and deploying security patches to the Windows server environment by following standard patching methodology
Provide tuning, troubleshooting and analysis.
Monitor system logs, activity and performance on all Windows Servers daily.
Education and Experience:
Bachelors degree in Computer Science or related discipline or equivalent work experience required.
3-5 years of HP Tools experience included OMW and HP Openview
HP, Citrix, VMware and Windows or equivalent certification preferred.
3-5 years of experience in Windows required.
3-5 years of VMWare ESX 3 or higher experience desired.
Ability to work independently in a fast-paced dynamic environment.
Strong knowledge of enterprise production environment best practices and troubleshooting techniques.
Active Directory experience is a plus.
