Our global banking client is seeking for a Linux - Systems Engineer to be based in Basel for a initial 10 months contract.The candidate will be responsible for design, implementation and maintenance of as well as third-level support, for enterprise-class software and hardware (front and back end) in a Red Hat Linux environment.
Technical Requirements
- Minimum 5 years Red Hat Enterprise Linux systems administration experience
- Systems management & provisioning using Red Hat Satellite 6 and Capsules
- Strong knowledge in automation using Ansible and Ansible Tower
- Configuration management using Puppet
- Knowledge in container technology and container orchestrator such as Kubernetes
- Using Red Hat Identity Management
- Systems monitoring, ideally Nagios and Prometheus
- Scripting, ideally Bash, Perl, Python
- RHCE ideally RHEL 7
Nice to Have:
- VMWare
- Converged infrastructure (in particular EMC vBlock)
- Networks (CISCO)
- Load Balancers (in particular F5)
- Firewalls (in particular Checkpoint)
- Backup Solutions (in particular Avamar)
- Storage solutions
Competencies
- Strong interest in new technologies and rends and their applicability for the bank
- Strong knowledge of industry best practices for the systems being supported
- Ability to leads (test, coordinate and implement) changes related to new releases or design changes to the environment, in cooperation with other internal teams and external service providers.
- Fluent in English (oral and written), with a second language (German, French or Italian) desirable.
- Readiness to work outside normal working hours, work on-call and provide cover for absences of team members
