Senior Windows Systems Engineer
We are currently looking on behalf of one of our important clients for a Senior Windows Systems Engineer in Zug Canton. It is a 6 to 12 month contract role which is then very likely to be extended or converted into a permanent position.
Your Role:
- Hold responsibility for the hands-on operation of existing infrastructure & introduce new technologies in a split role of operational activities & project led initiatives to maintain & enhance the IT services.
- Spend 50% of the time maintaining & supporting existing IT operations through both assisting the support teams & working on technical issues directly.
- Spend the remainder of the time assisting with the hands-on delivery of changes & new technologies into the business including overall ownership of certain technologies through governance, documentation, planning & solution enhancements.
Your Skills & Experience:
- 10+ years of Systems Engineering experience.
- Strong skills in Microsoft server operating systems including Windows 2012 & 2016.
- Sound expertise in Active Directory domain administration & Microsoft Exchange.
- Experience with VMWare & vSphere & a knowledge of Horizon &/or Citrix VDI.
- Ideally proficient with Microsoft System Centre (SCCM/SCOM) & Microsoft SQL.
- Preferably experienced with Netscaler, Barracuda & mail relay.
- Skills in Citrix/RES Back End systems & associated solutions, Microsoft OCS, Skype for Business, Storage, Compute Dell & HP are a plus.
- Exposure to additional enterprise technologies & a knowledge of the oil or fuel industry are both considered advantageous.
Your Profile:
- Ideally a completed University Degree in Computer Science.
- Enthusiastic, self-motivated, adaptable, inquisitive, positive & a team player.
- Strong communication skills, cooperative & able to communicate technical points clearly to different levels within an organization.
- Analytical & skilled interpreting requirements & suggesting well defined solutions.
- A full driver's license & own transportation.
- Able to travel nationally & across Europe when required.
- Able to occasionally work pre-scheduled shifts outside of normal office.
- Fluent English (spoken & written), German language skills are advantageous.
