Tasks:
1) Upgrade the Enterprise Portal Infrastructure:
- Upgrade the custom solution intranet farm from SharePoint 2013 to SharePoint 2016 using the database-attach method and help development team to migrate their custom solutions.
- High level migration steps include: Farm design with dedicated new Enterprise Portal farms (SharePoint 2016), design firewall zone setup, SQL server design with AOG, create servers using Windows Server 2016, create puppet role definition, create migration plan, database migration (iterations), Testing.
2) Upgrade the OS for SharePoint 2016 farms:
- Upgrade the OS for four SharePoint 2016 farms from Win2012R2 to Win2016 by replacing the servers role by role within the farms:
- High level migration steps include: Plan the migration, define puppet template(s) for SharePoint, modify Desired State Configuration (DSC) and move non-application configurations to puppet, Update DSC to Windows 2016, Plan and test the upgrade scenario, replace the servers in all environments (DEV, UAT and PRD), training on Windows 2016 for the team and operations.
Requirements:
- Previous experience in upgrading SharePoint solutions.
- Experience in PowerShell Desired State Configuration (farms are configured using SharePoint DSC modules).
- Experience with Git version control system and Jira.
- Experience with agile projects in large enterprise environments.
- Fluent in English and German.
