Digital Software Engineer - Software Development - Python - Java - C/C++ - ETL - Pharmaceuticals - German - English - SwitzerlandNextLink is having an existing position as a Digital Software Engineer for global projects in Switzerland for our core client within Pharmaceutical industry.
General information:
- Start Date: 15.04.2019 - Latest start date: 01.05.2019 - End Date: One year duration. - Work Location: Basel,- Work Load: 100% - Remote: 1 day per week, prior approval needed. - Extension: Possible, but not approved yet. - Travelling: Limited travel, if the project requires, 0 to 25% possible (Europe & USA for meetings, conferences and workshops)
Your main accountabilities will be:
- Implement signal processing and data analysis pipelines for processing large amounts of sensor data collected in clinical trials according to best coding practice - Modularize existing signal processing and data analysis pipelines to enable reuse of pipelines across clinical trials by a large team of scientists - Documentation of code used in pipelines
Requirements:
- 2+ years professional software development experience - Bachelor's degree in computer science, engineering or related technical fields - Deep knowledge of Python and preferably one or more of the following programming languages: Java, C/C++, R and Matlab - Previous working experience with the common Python data analysis stack (e.g. NumPy/SciPy, Pandas, Scikit-learn, etc) - Strong working knowledge of best coding practices (versioning, TDD, debugging) - Experience in or eagerness to build ETL (extract, transform, load) data pipelines - Familiar with the Atlassian suite (Confluence, Jira, BitBucket, Bamboo) - Strong analytical skills combined with conceptual thinking and structured working style - Ability to work in a multi-cultural team - Fluent in English
Nice to Haves:
- Experience with SQL and NoSQL data stores - Familiarity with UNIX/Linux internals and workload management systems (SLURM, SGE or UGE) - Project-based work experience in the pharmaceutical industry/consulting preferred - Experience with signal processing - One additional language (German is a plus)
