Scripting Developer (m/f) 100% - Linux / Scripting (Perl, Python, Shell) / SQL / PostgreSQLRôle / Projet :
For one of our clients in Geneva, we are looking for a Scripting Developer (m/f) to support the existing team during a rehosting project (Java, WebSphere, DB2).
The successful candidate must have Scripting skills with proven data migration skills from DB2 for z/OS to a distributed environment (Linux, PostgreSQL).
Skills in migrating from MVS JCL to an 'Open' Shell script solution and a good knowledge of database administration (DBA) would be a plus.
Main Tasks / Project:
- Assist in the implementation of data models in the PostgreSQL database
- Validate the target schemas with respect to the source
- Migrate data from DB2 to PostgreSQL
- Finalize the methodology for testing the compliance of migrated data
- Analyze, document and convert DB2 queries to PostgreSQL
- Write project documents using the HERMES methodology
- Complete, adapt and document the elements implemented
- Work closely with application developers and application managers to make migrated databases available on time
- Transfer project knowledge to the permanent organization's DBAs to ensure maintenance
- Support production teams in the preparation of data (files) for daily batch processing
- Work with DBAs, systems engineers and operational staff
Required profile:
Expected skills
- Very good skills in Scripting and automation
- Database migration experience
- DB2 UDB experience is a plus
- Very good knowledge of PostgreSQL, especially Foreign Data Wrappers (FDW)
- Good knowledge of the DBA business with which there will be strong interactions
- Ten years' experience on Linux environments
- Ten years' experience in SQL
- Experience in migration and data processing
- Mainframe environment knowledge is a plus
Language Skills
- French : fluent (preferably mother tongue)
- English: good knowledge
