We are working strategically with one of our core clients who is looking for an experienced and highly knowledgeable Data Governance SME- German speaking.

Responsibilities:
  • Continue to define and refine Data Governance model (spanning front to back ETL, DWH, Data marts, and BI), to ensure data is accurate and compliant with data standards, security standards and regulatory requirements
  • Define key metrics and KPI for the above model
  • Facilitate identification and documentation of the 'golden source' of all data elements, leveraging the foundation in place.
  • Participate in projects to ensure compliance to BI requirements, standards, security and accuracy of data
  • Monitor adherence to BI and Data Governance policies and standards, drive continuous improvement, and manage non-compliance escalations
  • Maintain and enhance Data Governance repository of relevant documentation for use by IT and Business Teams. I.e. standards, 'golden source', data dictionary, metrics
  • Drive adoption and implementation of the approved governance recommendations
  • Define, Implement and maintain reporting metrics on BI governance trends, risks, issues etc.
  • Understand and ensure compliance with all Bank policies and procedures, laws and regulations pertinent to this position; stay informed and share updates on changes with management.


QUALIFICATIONS

Education and Work Experience
  • Bachelor's degree and ten (10) or more years of related experience with emphasis in Business Intelligence, DWH and analytics.
  • Banking/Financial Services specifically Card services experience is a plus.
  • Knowledge and Practice of EU Security and Compliance regulations is very highly desirable - especially PCI DSS and GDPR
  • German proficiency is highly desirable.


Competencies
  • Has thorough knowledge of BI and data repositories (warehouses, databases, ETL strategies, etc.), metadata and data governance.
  • Has experience in Data and BI across a broad spectrum of products and technologies
  • Excellent understanding of technical standards and best practices in BI and DWH.
  • Well versed with DMBoK and DAMA from knowledge as well as practice perspective
  • Identifies process improvement opportunities and recommends/drives solutions.
  • Produces unambiguous, comprehensive and accurate interpretations.
  • Quickly learns and achieves proficiency in new software applications as needed.
  • Strong aptitude for understanding and analysing large amounts of data from multiple sources.
  • Develops insightful, value-added and actionable analyses with detailed explanations regarding drivers of those results.
  • Presents organized and thorough information and data appropriate for intended audience.
  • Utilizes variety of interpersonal styles and communication methods to effectively adapt to new work structures, processes, or cultures.
  • Demonstrates group presentation skills and excellent negotiation skills to deal effectively with individuals and groups within and outside the organization.
  • Strong business focus with demonstrated ability to act in partnership with management teams.
