Development Engineer with IT focus - scrum/laboratory diagnostics/ office/HP Alm /HL7 protocol

Project / Role:
For one of our clients we are looking for a Development Engineers with IT focus.
The role is a contract position for 6 months (with strong possibility of extension) close to Lucerne, Switzerland.
This Position is located in the System Integration (SI) Department, responsible for the integration of Software, Hardware, Assay, Consumables and Reagents on Molecular Diagnostic Systems.
Main Tasks:
As a Development Engineer in the SI Verification team, you will work as a part of a cross-functional team on the development of new complex diagnostics systems, typically fluidics, robotics software, thermal, electrical, mechanical and biochemistry elements. You will be responsible for performing hands-on testing, including evaluations of system error handling, reliability improvements and system performance and document the related results in submission relevant documents.

In this position you will be responsible for the following areas:
- Experimental design and execution of the experiments in the lab.
- Creation of Test Cases based on Product and Technical Requirements.
- Execution of related Test Cases, analysis of the results and creation of the respective regulatory documents.
- Defect creation and tracking and verification of defect fixes.
- Generate required documentation/procedures/technical reports in support of daily activities and be able to author official documents in English (e.g. Design history Files) for the preparation of milestones.
- Prepare and deliver presentations of project results to own or other groups.
- Coordinate efforts with other functional areas to accomplish tasks: Hardware-, Software-, Consumables-, Assay-Development as well as customer related areas.
- Generate required documentation/procedures/technical reports in support of daily activities and be able to author official documents in English (e.g. Design history Files) for the preparation of milestones. Prepare and deliver presentations of project results to own or other groups.

- Support for (Semi-)automation of new or existing tests and collaboration interfacing with offshore team for tests simulated environments.
- Subject matter expert for testing in simulated environment.
- Provide guidance and support to others.
- Flexibility to transfer knowledge to different tasks/subprojects within SI.

Skills / Requirements:
- Proven experience in supporting HW and SW as well as experience in laboratory diagnostics and/or service & support are additional assets.
- Experience in and willingness to work in a highly regulated industry and in labs with biosafety levels S1 and S2.

- Laboratory Information Solution and/or HL7 protocol
- Experience with Simulators and virtual environments
- Scrum process

Education:
-Degree in a technical or life sciences discipline (e.g. Bio- and Process-Engineering, Biology, Biotechnology, Chemistry. Mechanical engineering) or corresponding job experience.

Language:
English - Proficient
German - Good
