For our client, a Swiss Bank, we are looking for a Java Developer for a 6 months contract in Zurich, Switzerland (extension intended).

Overview of business area or project:
Role is in the area of Investment Reporting. A new reporting engine is being developed that enables the client to create a report on the fly with a GUI. The client shall see how the report will look like at the end and shall enable him to actively design the report during creation process.
Key Responsibilities
The new joiner shall help to develop the reporting tool further. It is essential that s/he is able to bring her/his own ideas of designing a GUI, discusses solution proposals with the team and implements the solution that is finally taken. Teamwork is a MUST in this new project.
Overview of the department/team (team size, backgrounds, personalities):
The Premium Client Reporting department is the central department for the Investment Reporting. In this department, all data is centralized for the different client operations and all the reports going to the clients are generated here. To now bring the SIR (using FrontNet as order entry) into the next generation (GUI that can generate the SIR individually to the RM's needs), the JAVA part of the team needs to be strengthened.
The existing team is an international group of developers, a tester, a requirements engineer and 5 other JAVA developers, one of them being the lead developer. The team is located in Zurich. The team is led by a scrum master and the method of SCRUM is actively coached but flexibly driven in the team.
Challenges Contractor will be facing in this role:
Most important, the contractor shall be able to develop a reporting engine with a GUI, taking the data from some web services in the background. Most important is the cooperation with the other team members and a close alignment with the business as requirements provider. The environment is fast, evolving and under pressure because there are many stakeholders waiting for the product
