For one of our Swiss Pharma clients we are seeking freelance support as:Application Developer (M/F)
Tasks:
Assessment of user needs through close cooperation with business functions to provide support and proactive service, including analysis of opportunities in accordance with the IT strategy and architecture
Provision of algorithms, data models, functions and/or objects
Ongoing troubleshooting, user support, and maintenance of the Systems to ensure customer satisfaction
Provision or selection of applicable methods, technologies, standards, guidelines and tools for the software development and maintenance
Provision of good and well structure documentation and methodology to ensure compliance to CSV requirements, IT policies, and standards
Configuration or development of new system functionalities based on user requirements
Strong understanding of research requirements and technology to support business objectives
Combination of internal and external data/information sources to provide sound models to facilitate research decisions
Qualification:
Start: Asap, 6 months ´, 3-5 days / week
University degree in biology, and computer science or management information systems, or related field. Master’s degree is an advantage
Eight years of professional experience with preferably four years in the pharmaceutical industry
At least 5 years of hands-on experience in software development in biology or chemistry information systems
Agile software development
Strong knowledge of multi-tiers applications, object-oriented programming, JAVA programming language, and C++, Scala
Very good experience with Application servers such as ColdFusion, JBoss, Apache-Tomcat
Strong knowledge about web technologies, Ajax, Json, HMTL5, CSS, Javascript
Very good experience with standards as XML, SOAP, REST
Strong communication skills, able to understand researchers and present solutions to them
Analytical skills and ability to think of algorithms
Good understanding of data integration, systems interfaces, data warehousing and data mining
Ability to quickly translate business needs into technical specifications
Ability to manage resources in the design and implementation of systems and data interfaces
Ability to deliver high quality support for operational or analytical applications
Independent, and hands-on working style, team player, highly self-motivated, autonomous, proactive and change oriented
Fluent in English (written and spoken), French and/or German is a plus
