On behalf of our client we are looking for a senior individual as follows:

Overview:
Develop and deploy architecture, standards and processes to improve the management of information and data throughout its life cycle across all IT applications. The primary result is the decision framework including patterns and practices, for the design of Business solutions and data repositories that provide consistent, relevant and reliable information for business analysis and decision making. This framework may extend across the European enterprise and to external partner applications and environments. This includes the enterprise data dictionary and model framework, data movement and distribution architecture, data integration standards, and data availability and quality standards, among others. Design and maintain architectural models and standards to enable systems integration and decision support activities in a reliable, efficient manner. Responsible for leading technology change efforts in the area of data management to ensure adoption throughout the Enterprise.

Responsibilities:
Establishes the Data Architecture as part of the overall Enterprise Architecture that guides the implementation of information technology in Europe. Ensures alignment with all layers of the Enterprise Architecture (Business, Application, Systems and Technical) is established through coordination with other Business Solutions and IT organizations. This activity ensures the delivery of data management practices and repositories that support Europe's business strategies and objectives.
Develops and deliver standards and practices in support of the data architecture to guide the development and implementation of data warehousing, Business Intelligence portals, and knowledge management solutions. This includes standards for data modelling, data dictionary, object and message design, reporting, etc. as well as best practices and methods for information/data life cycle management, data stewardship and control, etc. The purpose of this activity is to ensure effective storage and use of data in and across systems.
Leads the analysis and evolution of the Enterprise Data Dictionary and Information Model to define data meaning and use. Identifies patterns and opportunities to share and reuse information. Develops operational and maintenance processes and procedures and engages appropriate stakeholders in process activities. Proactively reviews the quality and integrity of the data dictionary/information model and develops a roadmap to manage its life cycle. The purpose of this activity is to ensure common understanding by appropriate stakeholders to enable accurate business analysis.
Evaluates and selects the appropriate tools and products to facilitate the implementation of the architecture, including modelling, case and metadata management tools as well as data management platforms, extraction/transformation/load tools, reporting and analysis tools, etc. Leads the execution of proof-of-concept pilots and vendor evaluations of data management platforms and technologies that have potential application in the computing environment. Works with application architects to ensure development environment/workbenches are configured to enable data management practices.
Manages the process and metadata repository for cataloging information objects, their definitions, attributes and relationships, including data models and flow diagrams. Champions the logical and physical data model review activities to ensure compliance with the data architecture and standards.
Champions data architecture frameworks, models and practices throughout organization. Communicates data quality status, improvement opportunities and concerns to every level of the organization. Serves as subject matter expert and advisor to management on emerging technologies and practices that effect data management and integration and the impact of those technologies on enterprise strategies. Mentors Technical Development Team through all stages of application development life cycle.
Requirements:

10+ years of technical experience in application development, web development and IT systems integration.
Hands-on experience with designing, developing, and implementing enterprise data architectures, data and object models, data dictionary, entity relationship and flow diagrams, database design, and metadata design and repository management.
Datawarehouse technologies, SQL, OLTP, OLAP, ETL, Case Tools, Reporting tools and Data Connectivity.
Knowledge of Service Oriented Architecture, Enterprise Application Integration, portal and user interface services, and software development life cycle methodologies.
Microsoft and SAP development platforms.
Document management, content management, personalization, identity management, and/or mobile computing is a plus.
Be able to interpret business strategies and objectives into architecture frameworks, guiding principles, and technology standards, and be able to determine specific technical capabilities to be implemented.
Be able to apply proven architectural principles including re-use, flexibility, and maintainability. The individual must be able to communicate the considerations and trade-offs in terms of overall technical and business value.
Demonstrate the ability to effectively analyze technical issues and recommend alternatives. The person must demonstrate strong interpersonal and communication skills.
Possess creative ability, consulting skills, leadership qualities, credibility, and self-confidence, and be capable of establishing influential and collaborative relationships with primarily other IT professionals.
