System Engineer - Storage/SME/NetApp/Virtualization - Switzerland
A fantastic job opportunity has arisen for a System Engineer to join a global consultancy company in beautiful Berne, Switzerland. This is a contract opportunity for a minimum duration of 12 months+ to work onsite.
The job is expected to be complex and challenging, where your developer skills will be tested. As well as this, the role will be exciting for the right candidate as each day working as part of this close, amazing team, will be different.
Skills/experienced required:
- Actively participate in global Storage Infrastructure Team
- Actively participate in global Backup and Data Center operations Team
- Assist in license management
- Manage capacity planning, report technical performance metrics, and implementation of operational standards and best practices to meet required service levels.
- Develop and continuously refine documented technical strategies in order to provide a scalable and manageable environment for future growth
- Coordinate and contribute to the stability, availability, security, and performance of the organization's storage, server virtualization and data center facilities working with other cross platform Infrastructure teams, Security team, Architecture team and Application teams
- Services delivered include general consulting, project build work, general administration, 24x7 support, upgrade, patching, migration and/or transition planning, performance and tuning, project planning, standards validation/development, technical documentation, process automation, and problem analysis and resolution
Required Qualifications:
- System administration experience with storage area networking with NetApp preferably Metro cluster, protocols FC, NFS, CIFS, ISCSI, FCOE, Brocade and Cisco SAN switch management, Snap manager, DFM.
- Experience in backup and disaster recovery (DR) planning
- Experience in server virtualization and storage resource management
- Experience with Cisco UCS
- Experience with tape libraries & backup software, including Commvault
