Senior System Administrator (Infrastructure) - LinuxRole:
One of our customers in the Basel area is looking for a Senior System Administrator (Infrastructure) - Linux.
Main Tasks:
* Delivery of the scientific Linux application environment and build system
* Support of scientific Linux platform
* Contributes to the concept, planning and execution of projects.
* Documentation, training, user support
Technical skills - Must Haves (at least 2 of them):
* Desirable at least 5 years of administering Linux environments
* Experience of Linux build and packaging tools (such as: Make, CMake, Easybuild, RPM, Yum)
* DevOPS approach: configuration management (e.g. puppet), automated build/release test & deployment, CI/CD (e.g. jenkins, git)
* Virtualization and containerisation experience.
Technical skills - Nice to Haves (at least 3 of them):
* Experience working with installing and configuring scientific applications particularly on a Linux/Unix platform, examples: Bowtie, Gromacs, R, Python, Matlab, Tensorflow, Pipeline Pilot, Schrodinger, Moe.
* Cloud technologies, infrastructure/platform as a service, AWS, Google, Azure
* Desirable at least 3 years of administering Linux HPC environments
* Workload management, (e.g. SLURM, Torque, LSF)
* Knowledge of HPC infrastructure components, infiniband networking, GPUs
* Experience working with Parallel Filesystem (e.g. Lustre, GPFS) and Scale-out NAS (e.g. Isilon)
* Scripting: shell, python, perl
* Big Data frameworks (e.g. Hadoop, Mapreduce, Spark)
* Monitoring tools/frameworks (e.g. nagios, ganglia, elk)
* Programming skills in high level languages such as Java or C++ are a plus
* Professional Linux/Unix Certifications
* Desirable understanding of Computer Systems Validation and ITIL concepts
Education:
* Higher national diploma level.
Languages:
* Fluent in English and German would be plus
