Job Description:
Summary:Our client will look out for candidates who have recent & solid experience with support to end users and providing training to end users. The Tech Center Specialist plays a crucial, hands?on role in providing technical support and education to both scientists and administrators. This role is responsible for providing day?to?day support of IT devices (PCs, Macs, mobile devices), infrastructure, and applications (e.g., both off?the?shelf and internally developed). In addition to providing local, hands?on technical support to personnel within their area, the Technician must build and maintain strong working relationships with users and other support personnel.
Major Accountabilities:
-Provide high?quality, friendly, proactive support and education services to all Client Users within a Tech Center location
-Responsible for installing and configuring desktop software and peripherals
-Strong knowledge and the ability to troubleshoot MS Win 7/10, MS Office, Adobe, Modern Browsers, Internal Applications, and more
-Ability to troubleshoot OS X Mountain Lion / Mavericks, MS Office Mac, Adobe, Safari, Parallels, Keychain, and other iOS related issues
-Partner effectively with IT resources to provide reliable end?to?end IT service delivery
-Need perform trending and continuous improvement analysis within areas of responsibility
-Need to record problem and resolution details in the ticketing system
-Should provide end user training with traditional and modern training methods, tools and techniques
Required Skills:
-Experience in supporting global IT desktop and lab services including configuration, patching and diagnosis of server/desktop/PC systems, Mac Systems, and Mobile Devices (e.g., iPhone, iPad, Android)
-Proven ability to educate end users on device and application capabilities
-Skills in communicating complex ideas effectively, both orally and in writing
-Ability to work well with all levels of management and employees
-Willingness to own issues until they are resolved
Nice to have:
-Professional certifications (MCSE, Cisco, CompTIA A+/Net+, ACMT) added advantage
-Experience as a class room trainer is an advantage
-German Language skills
Education: Apprenticeship in a technology field or equivalent work experience or Similar
Languages: Fluent in English
