APPLICATION ENGINEER with Siebel certification

Description:
- Performing analytical activities and all software development tasks. Incorporating technical and operational requirements into IT solutions.
- Analyzing problems (business processes, transactions, data, functions)
- Defining system requirements (functional/qualitative requirements)
- Analyzing the technical and business environment (workplace, target systems and platforms, framework organization)
- Constructing models in terms of data, functions and/or objects
- Designing components and interfaces
- Implementing applications
- Setting up and maintaining environments for developing and testing
- Create and maintain project documentation (test, application, user manual)
- Project Estimating
- Specificating and implementing interfaces
- Developing or choosing the appropriate methods, techniques, standards, guidelines and tools for software development
Required Skills:
- 2+ years leading a Siebel software development team, having demonstrated measureable improvements in delivery timelines and software quality.
- 6+ years experience in Siebel development (Siebel v 7.8), including: Data Model Extensions, Workflow Process, Workflow Policies, Personalisation and Run-Time Events, Business Services, Business Component and User Interface design.
- Knowledge of Siebel Clinical can be a plus
- Direct experience of Siebel EAI solutions including Integration Objects, Integration Business Services, Web Services, the EAI Siebel Adaptor, Virtual Business Components, Workflows for Siebel EAI, EIM, eScript.
- Direct experience of database modelling and design, including: SQL, Normalised Forms, Oracle, SQL Server.
- Direct experience of the following programming languages: Windows Batch Files, at least one non-Siebel development language ([Python, Java, Perl, or C++]), at least one text processing tool ([grep, awk]), SQL and/or PL/SQL.
- Direct experience of software release management, including: Release Management, the Siebel Release Process (manual and automated), Software Configuration Management (including one common centralised or distributed SCM tool [Subversion, Mercurial, Git, Bazaar, CVS or PVCS]).
- Direct experience of migrating data and functionality from a non-Siebel application to a Siebel 7 or 8.
- Knowledge and experience of general software development concepts such as: the Software Development Lifecycle, Software Development Team Management, Test Driven Development, Relational Database Design, Procedural Programming, Object Orientated Programming, Functional Programming
- Knowledge of the recording and improvement of common development team metrics such as Code Quality, Unit Test Quality and Coverage, Estimation Error.
- Must be Siebel Certified
- English (fluent in both spoken and written)
- International experience in multi-site teams across timezones is a plus
- Work location Basel. Travel required.
