OD4B Migration Support

Introduction:

Our client has implemented a cloud-first strategy that includes moving solutions and data from on-site hosted data centres to the Microsoft 365 platforms by the end of 2022.

Employee Workplace has a must-win goal of having personal data ("home drive") migrated to OneDrive for Business for all employees by the end of 2022.

For this migration we wish to engage with a vendor who can provide the skills and resources to temporarily augment our existing internal team to enable us to achieve this goal and meet the demand of our users.

Content will be transitioned from the current file server system into OneDrive for Business following an IT-driven migration strategy to provide the best experience for our users. The main responsibility will be to define and schedule migration batches, and then reviewing and fixing any pre- and postmigration issues / problems.

Tasks and activities:

To support the personal data migration and ensure completion by the end of 2022, we seek the support of a vendor with the needed skills and understanding in carrying out the following activities:

· Define and schedule migration batches.

· Monitor and check personal data migrations.

· Work / operate the migration tools (SharePoint Migration Tool / Migration Manager, PowerShell scripts) together with existing codebase to execute migrations.

· Resolve defects that occur as a result of the migration process (3rd level support).

· Review and perform manual migrations of home drives to OneDrive for Business as needed.

· Work directly with users to ensure their requirements are met for migration.

· Consult with internal customers on the use of Microsoft 365 services in the area of content management.

· Step in to support our migration of SharePoint on-premises to SharePoint Online when capacity allows.

Skill requirements:

In order to carry out these activities, the following skills are required:

· Experience with previous SharePoint migration projects or tools (ShareGate, Migration Manager, SPMT, Metalogix Content Matrix, AvePoint) is highly preferred.

· Must have some experience working directly with customers - i.e. handling support tickets, under-standing customer requirements, and triaging / resolving issues.

· Minimum of 3 years SharePoint engineering or administration experience. Candidate must be fa-miliar and demonstrate an understanding of how to manage SharePoint sites, content, permis-sions, as well as how they operate at a technical level.

· PowerShell experience preferred (executing & writing scripts).

· Experience with Microsoft 365 products, apps, and services is a plus, specifically OneDrive for Business & SharePoint Online.

· Experience in working with Agile Scrum is a plus.
