For our customer a big pharmaceutical company in Basel we are looking for a highly qualified Quality Engineer
Background
The application IRCI hosted on the Chemistry Platform is business critical within the pRED research organization and grown over 2 decades as in-house Java Enterprise development. The IRCI Web user interface is dependent on Internet Explorer 11. The overall backend implementation mainly based on Java Enterprise (Oracle WebLogic 12c) and JSP for the UI requires modernization. IRCI used in Small Molecule Research by Scientists to register chemical batches. Many other research applications supporting logistics, ordering, workflows or data analysis are dependent on the data registered in IRCI and on services provided by IRCI and the Chemistry Platform.
Provisioning of new modern Web User Interfaces and API's for integration with the application landscape is in the focus of the project.
The perfect candidate:
We are looking for a Quality Engineer who will build up good knowledge of the existing legacy applications and can support the development team on the reimplementation. In a later phase, you support as Quality Engineer who will oversee the Quality process around the deliverables implemented by the DEV team and design the Quality Check process in the project from the scratch. Previous experience in ROCHE projects and basic automation skills will be a plus.
Tasks & Responsibilities
* You ensure good understanding of the existing to be replaced legacy applications by reading documentation and practicing the applications in the test environments
* You collaborate with the Product Owner and stakeholders (chemists) to adjust requirements were needed and communicate that to the development team
* Perform manual testing as end user of the new applications in the later phase of the project
* Support the quality check and process of the deliverables provided by the development team
* You use tools to test the new REST API's (e.g. Postman)
* You support the user documentation of the new Web applications
Must haves:
* Min. Bachelor degree or similar in any IT related environment or Engineering
* Min. 3-5 years of experience as Quality Tester and/or Application Tester within migration projects, preferred in the pharmaceutical industry
* Experience in business process management and stakeholdermanagement in a matrix organization
* Experience with business analysis and IT processes within projects
* Experience in an agile project setting (or Scrum)
* Fluency in English
* You have the ability to work self-organized
* Ability to adapt to different needs in the project
* Capable of learning in the context of the chemistry domain
* Experience in agile project setup
* Fluent in English, German is a plus
Nice to Haves:
* Knowledge of Chemistry would be helpful
* Experience with test automation tools
* Previous pharma experience
