Systems Engineer - Time-Series Database

Overview of contract
On behalf of our client, a leading financial institution in Zürich, we are looking for a Systems Engineer for the Time- Series Database operation. The data stored in the Database plays a key role as a source of data for other systems and applications and therefore a smooth operation, stability and monitoring are essential
This is a 12 month contract based in Zurich.
Main responsibilities
- Responsible for the operation and maintenance of the high-performance Time-Series Database.
- Establish and ensure reliable flow and integration of data from internally and externally sourced data.
- Maintain interfaces for the incoming and outgoing data to and from the database.
- Ensure reliable availability, integrity, and quality of data through automation.
- Collaborate with multiple cross-functional engineering teams to identify and address data gaps or inconsistencies
- Build and maintain monitoring tools to guarantee system health.
- Handle deployments in all environments.
- Manage CI/CD tools.
Your skills:
- 3+ years in Devops:
- Creating rpm packages, understanding deployments by satellite Servers.
- Shell Scripting.
- Systemd managed services
- 3 years of experience in managing Linux based infrastructure.
- Working experience as a Systems Engineer in Financial Industry.
- Good Scripting skills.
- Experience with Agile Methodology.
- Familiar with Continuous Delivery
- Ideally you will have strong skills in OneTick Database or other time-series databases.
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills and a good sense of humour
- Independent, pragmatic and pro-active working style
- Some maintenance activities will take place in the evenings and occasionally weekends (mainly releases and health-checks). Candidate must be willing to perform these tasks. (upon request).
