Off-Line Storage Administrator (Banking)

Key Responsibilities:
- CH EMEA Backup Infrastructure,
- fixing backup failures creating regulatory issues,
- ensuring infrastructure configurations in-line with security baselines,
- assisting Global Service Owner with statistical reporting and analysis of backup performance
- identifying areas of improvement within infrastructure
- configuring new hardware to resolve life cycle issues
- identifying automation opportunities along with design and implementation
Essentials Skills and Qualifications:
Desired Skills and Qualifications:
- Strong experience with Veritas NetBackup tools to backup Servers, Oracle DBs and VMware VMs
- Strong experience with Physical and Virtual Tape Systems
- Experience IBM and HP Storage Systems
- Hands on experience monitoring and performance tuning of various storage systems
- Competence with capacity planning and storage allocation forecasting
- Experience with SAN Switches - Cisco
- Shell Scripting (bash/ksh, PERL, Python)
- On the job experience and deep understanding of Linux Operating Systems
- Confidence in your experience working with monitoring tools
- Agility working across an enterprise wide, large scale Matrix environment
- Proven ability to plan and prioritize work and meet project deadlines
- Sincere enthusiasm for automation and Orchestration and experience of any associated tools.
- Working knowledge of NAS and SAN an advantage. dEMC Unity and Isilon.
- Understanding of agile working an advantage.
- Understanding of SOX controls, Audit and Regulatory Compliance, also an advantage.
