Virtualization Engineer - VMware / Storage - vacancy for a globally operating Basel based company in the financial sector.Your experience/skills:
- 3+ years' working experience in building, maintaining and operating resilient virtualization platforms based on VMware technology
- Very good understanding of datacenter technologies, requirements and processes paired with solid understanding of Storage, Network and Compute in an enterprise virtualization context
- Competency of converged infrastructure and software defined network and storage technologies as well as of automation tools such as Ansible
- Experience with Veeam or another backup solution used within a virtualized environment and with system deployment automation
- Practice in NetApp storage systems for CIFS and NFS is an advantage
- Knowledge of Cloud based technologies including experience with Azure and AWS in addition to experience with 2nd and 3rd level troubleshooting of technical issues in cooperation with other specialist teams
- Languages: English, fluent in written and spoken
Your tasks:
- Providing support in maintenance and improving the virtualized operating environment
- Supporting the operations team in lifecycle management, resolving technical issues and coordinating changes
- Performing IT best practices and its application in a business environment
- Following ITIL-based change management procedures and processes
- Providing third-level support and designing input in an enterprise environment
- Working outside normal working hours during service windows and providing on-call cover for evenings and weekend
