Software Asset Manager (software contracts management)
Our client, headquartered in Zurich, is an important subsidiary of a global company in the finance industry. We are looking for a Software Asset Manager who can start as soon as possible.
Role:
- Software Asset Management requires to have a view on the software contracts as well as the license and maintenance terms and conditions. The client is looking to improve and extend its visibility into this information, make the data centrally available to enable a central team to proactively steer license and maintenance related activities.
Responsibilities:
- Research/identification of documents (contracts, purchase orders, invoices, licensing guides, etc.)
- Gathering of additional information by liaising with sourcing and demand mgrs. as well as software responsible
- Review and analysis of documents and information to extract SAM relevant data
- Entry of data about contracts, software products, licenses in a database
- Getting sign-off on the entered data in review sessions with sourcing and demand mgrs.
- Training on applicable license and maintenance terms and conditions for people responsible for managing software deployments
In addition, depending on urgency,
- Gathering of data required to determine license consumption for a given software
- Consolidation and analysis of gathered data
- Calculation of license consumption
- Documentation of used approach (cook book)
Skills:
- Over 2 years of experience in dealing with software contracts
- Strong understanding of software license terms and conditions including legal and commercial aspects
- Strong understanding of license consumption in large enterprise IT environments
- Relevant business analysis experience
- At least 1 ½ years of experience in an IT or business management role, preferably with exposure to license management or software sourcing
- Strong stakeholder management
