Application Supporter (3114)

Role overview:
• Operation of Applications on UNIX / Windows infrastructure for several business units (IB, PB und AM)
• 2nd Level Support (incident, and problem management) of highly available web services
• Maintenance of software components
• Accountability for web services related Operating Level and Service Level Agreements
• Operation of test, integration and production infrastructures for web based services running on Sun Solaris, Red Hat Linux and Windows based systems
• Planning and execution of maintenance of applications
• Integration of new systems and products, including support for projects through all environments from test to production
• Quality assurance and acceptance tests of web applications frameworks
• Root cause analysis and implementation of sustainable solutions
• Life Cycle projects
• DR tests in cooperation with application implementation teams
• Create, revise and update technical documentation
• On-call support (7x24h) in the Application Operations team

As an ideal candidate you fulfill the following requirements:

• Completed apprenticeship in Information Technology or other adequate education
• Operational knowledge of web services (Oracle Weblogic and iPlanet, Microsoft IIS)
• At least 5-8 years of professional experience in operating web applications on various platforms (Sun Solaris, Red Hat Linux, Windows)
• Experience in system administration of UNIX environments
• Know-how of Windows administration is an asset
• Willingness to provide 7x24h standby duty
• Willingness to work on weekends and outside of office hours
• Practical experience in Incident, Problem and Change Management, including root cause analysis
• Strong analytical troubleshooting skills.
• Excellent interpersonal skills and ability to work and communicate effectively with customers, senior management and other stakeholders
• Good command of English and German (spoken and written)
• Knowledge and/or experience in Systems Management Tools (e.g. BMC Patrol, ITSM, ServiceNow), Virtualization (LDOM / VMWare), UNIX scripting and ITIL V3 are a plus
