For a long term project at our client site in Zurich, a globally acting investment company, we are looking for an experienced

Core Infrastructure Support Engineer (2880)

You will be part of the IT team with end-to-end responsibility for our clients global core infrastructure together with external business partners and your colleagues.
The IT vendor and SLA management will therefore fall within your responsibility to the same extent as change, quality, control and standards management (i.e. BCM).

In addition, you will actively manage application and data life cycles and maintain the core infrastructure. You will ensure that users globally are trained and supported in all applications and devices available to them.
As a member of the IT team, you will participate in various projects and ensure deputizing arrangements are in place with your colleagues.

We are looking for a candidate with the following profile:
A university degree (Bachelor) in Computer Science or Information Technology
At least eight years of hands-on (i.e. non-managerial) experience, for example as a database or system administrator who developed his or her skills in a Microsoft landscape; this should ideally have been in a technology company
Fluency in scripting and programming languages, SQL
Network administration, enterprise architecture and data warehousing experience are a plus
Bright, fast, positive and motivated with a clear ‘can-do, will-do’ attitude
Creative and capable of thinking and acting outside the box
Affinity with and an interest in technological trends and in personal development
Excellent communicator who is skilled in giving presentations
Very good written communication skills in English; German is an advantage
