Linux SYSTEM ADMINISTRATOR
(Solaris, RedHat, UNIX, CLUSTERING, LVM, VXFS, ZFS, Shell Scripting)
BANKING IT INFRASTRUCTURE JOB IN ZÜRICH, SWITZERLAND.
A respected international tier-1 banking client of mine is seeking a Linux System Administrator for a job opportunity in Zürich.
This bank has always been at the forefront of technology advancements and development of banking applications, and they currently need a Linux System Administrator. As the Linux System Administrator in Zürich, you will be a part of UNIX L3 team in Zürich responsible for supporting the infrastructure systems and services. Your role will be to provide third level support for Red Hat Linux and Oracle Solaris in a distributed server environment, liaising with regional counterparts, to participate in global infrastructure projects, to drive for automating repetitive tasks and implementing automation on a global scale, and to communicate and collaborate with other internal partners for designing, planning and coordination of implementation to ensure work is completed in a timely manner.
Some key skills you will need for this role include:
- Very good UNIX-based administration skills on an enterprise level
- Knowledge of virtualization technologies (VMware)
- Very good Scripting skills (Shell, Python, Perl).
- Knowledge of software configuration management tools (preferably Puppet), version control systems (preferably Git), and unattended provisioning systems (Kickstart, Jumpstart).
- Solid understanding of TCP/IP Networking.
- Highly skilled in at least two of the following products: Red Hat Satellite, Veritas Storage Foundation, Veritas Cluster Server, Red Hat Cluster Suite, Sun Cluster
This is for a contract job with an initial duration of 6 months. Ideally, you are available from the start of the new year.
