UNIX/Linux System Administrator - Solaris/Redhat - This is a long term contract opportunity for an experienced L3 Administrator to join our Zurich based client in the financial sector.
Your experience/skills:
- 5+ years' experience in supporting UNIX/Linux based distributed computing environment with large number of Servers, ideally in financial industries
- Good knowledge of UNIX-based operating systems, both Redhat Linux and Solaris 8/10, as well as virtualisation technologies such as VMWare
- Excellent know-how of Veritas foundation suite, Veritas Cluster Server, Redhat Linux Cluster Server and Suncluster
- Ability to write scripts in administrative languages, such as TK, Perl, KSH, SH and CSH
- Familiarity with fundamental networking and distributed computing as well as storage environment concepts and technologies, such as LAN, WAN, routing protocols, NFS, DNS, NIS, LDAP, SAN, NAS, Kerberos and Fibre Channel
- Languages: fluent English both written and spoken
Your tasks:
- Leading infrastructure projects and providing third Level Support of Oracle Solaris and Red Hat Linux distributed server environment liaising with regional and global counterparts
- Designing, planning and coordinating the implementation in cooperation with internal partners
- Driving the execution of innovative solutions and Implementing improvements in regional or global scale while considering business priorities and objectives
- Writing technical documentations for related infrastructure and installs
- Working with Sun Fire and enterprise product line, Fujitsu Prime power series, HP, IBM and DELL server HW as well as fundamentals of SAN and NAS storage
