AML Compliance Officer (banking)

On behalf of our client, a leading bank in Zürich, we are looking for a Compliance Officer with good AML (Anti-Money Laundering) experience within the banking industry. The successful candidate will work within the Financial Crime Compliance Organization of the bank which is the owner of the Global PEP (Politically Exposed Persons Desk) Policy and the gatekeeper for the implementation and application on a global level with the responsibility of the onboarding, monitoring and review process of relationship with PEP. Role:

  • Compliance Officer at the Global PEP Desk (GPD) with responsibility to complete risk assessments for PEPs, during the relationship opening and periodic review process covering Anti-Money-Laundering Risk and Reputational Risk aspects as well as to support the global roll-out of the PEP risk scoring model.
  • Advise the Front Office staff on a daily basis with regard to PEP related matters (eg advising and deciding on PEP relationship classification etc.).
  • Opportunity to support Regulatory and Audit requests and to coordinate the regular monitoring and review tasks (eg PEP Review process)
  • Opportunity to participate in working groups and projects to improve/implement PEP related issues/projects and to train/coach junior staff to conduct abovementioned activities.

Skills:

  • At least 3 years of work experience as a compliance officer in the banking sector
  • Good understanding and at least 1 year AML experience (performing due diligence, transactional analysis)
  • Interest & passion for Compliance, risk topics and international political developments; affinity and knowledge of the international political developments is a key asset
  • Excellent Language Skills in English (any additional languages are considered highly beneficial)
  • Open, flexible, communicative and team-oriented with perseverance as an independent Control Function representative
  • Good analytical and investigative skills
  • High preference for local candidates
