We are looking for an experienced Cloud Engineer for a 6 month+ contract working for a leading financial services company in Zurich.

The candidate should be an experienced T-shaped IT professional with strong AWS skills to work on a variety of projects where he or she will build, maintain and monitor cloud-based environments. The expected expertise should revolve around AWS products, migrations of physical/virtual workloads, backups and archiving, automation of processes and Scripting. The candidate should show strong Linux administration skills, familiarity with Windows, broad knowledge of, but not limited to, networking, storage, databases (Oracle, MS SQL), GIT, Artifactory, Jenkins, datacenter architecture, market data systems and so on. Ability to collaborate across teams and disciplines is a must.
What do we expect from a candidate?
- 3+ years of AWS based cloud experience
+ certified AWS Solution Architect (preferable)
+ implementation of complex IT projects based on AWS products
+ connectivity between VPCs and private-public clouds (VPN)
+ provisioning and orchestration tools (either AWS provided or terraform/puppet/salt)
+ backup to cloud based on Commvault
+ DR in Cloud (replicate and failover from VMware vSphere to AWS)
+ Bursting increased workloads to cloud
+ RDS (Oracle, MS Sql)
- Diploma in Engineering, Computer Science or a similar subject
- 5+ years of experience in Financial IT
- Thorough experience in one or more of the following competencies:
+ Systems operations and management
+ Enterprise architecture
+ Infrastructure design
+ Jenkins (CD/CI, use of devops methodologies)
+ GIT
+ IT Security
+ VPN, routing (OSPF, BGP, eBGP), IPsec, tunneling
+ VMware vSphere
+ Disaster recovery planning and execution
+ Automation and orchestration (salt, VMware, terraform, puppet, Open Shift,)
+ Scripting skills (python, PowerShell, REST API)
- Excellent communication skills (Fluent English, German desirable)
