Summary
Our customer is currently looking for a Cloud/API Software Developer that supports us in implementing a Microsegmentation (Network segmentation) automation framework for a VMWare/NSX based IaaS private cloud.
Requirements
- Software development background, deep understanding of the Software Development Lifecycle, tools, and practices that are required.
- Excellent understanding of Infrastructure as Code principles, APIs, Microservices and related paradigms (eg RESTful services)
- Basic Database and Datamodelling skills
- Good understanding of automation and configuration management tools such as puppet
- Excellent knowledge of concepts, engineering, implementation, usage and operations; able to approach topics from a holistic view
- Strong troubleshooting skills; able to analyze issues/problems, identify alternative solutions including consequences of proposed actions and implement recommendations
- Good knowledge of networking for enterprise workloads in virtualized environments
- Understanding of cloud networking concepts with focus on VMware ESX; optional: Microsoft Azure and AWS, and hybrid mode models (combinations of on-prem, private cloud, and public cloud setups)
- Strong security background
- Methodical and systematic approach towards gathering requirements, designing solutions, documentation and communication; ability to assess the marketplace (understand what is out there); ability to translate requirements into solutions
Technical skills:
* Fluent and multi-year hands-on experience in at least one of the following languages
and framworks: Python, Ruby, Go
* GIT
* CI/CD: Bamboo
* VMware, NSX
* Terraform
* Networking OSI, TCP/IP: solid understanding of the OSI protocol stack and TCP/IP
networking (must have)
* Network security/Firewall Security
* SDN: knowledge of SDN principles
Candidates should be available to start by no later than September 2017 and be available for 100% engagement until at least February 2018.
