Our client, one of the biggest pharmaceutical companies based in Basel, is looking for a Senior System Administrator with strong experience in the Laboratory area.
This is a contracting role based in Basel and planned to start in June until the end of the year with extension opportunities.

Project background:
Our client is looking for a someone supports their users (ie postdocs, laboratory workers, chemists) in a professional way.
During this project you will join a team of 7 team members and your main task is general Laboratory IT Support. This means that you will not support one specific project.
During this project you will create a centralized IT system framework to automatically acquire, analyze, and report global manufacturing data for improved compliance with process and product monitoring.
Tasks:
- Provides technical support, training, and assistance to students, faculty, and staff in a computer lab environment; analyzes problems and implements solutions according to Department guidelines and procedures
- Performs computer troubleshooting to diagnose system problems
- Monitors scientific environment; resolves configuration and connectivity issues
- Collects, compiles, analyzes, and presents reports for technical and administrative information
- Administration and maintenance principles of network Servers, relational databases, and web- and windows/Linux-based software applications.
Ideal Profile:
- +7 years of experience of scientific systems (eg HPLC, LCMS, MS, NMR)
- Strong capability to perform security related support (Patch Management, KACE, SCCM, Firewalls, and Account Management)
- Ability to support Archive, Storage and Virtual systems used within the research environment
- Experienced with network topologics and protocols, and technical Internet knowledge base services
- 5+ years of experiencewith using Scripting language (eg Java, Windows PowerShell, and Visual Basic) for computer and web administration
- 10+ years of experience with solving technical problems involving integrated operating systems and hardware platforms
- Customer service experience (ability to respond to requests effectively and efficiently in a professional way)
- Strong organizational and planning skills
- Ability to prioritize multiple tasks, projects and demands
- Excellent communication skills with fluency in English
- The German language will be an advantage
- Knowledge of Acronis would be a plus
