SharePoint Administrator required, to work on a project within a major Bank.
We are seeking an individual to administer a number of their on-premises SharePoint 2013 farms as part of a bank wide collaboration project.
This requirement has previously been fulfilled as an outsourced service, however the project maturity necessities an onsite resource to become an integral part of the project team. This role will be the first onsite, dedicated resource in this capacity.
The successful candidate can work autonomously and must be used to operating in a small team, where they would be expected to take ownership of the administration of productive services, proactively, whilst still being able to zoom-in and work technically on delivery items as a product expert.
This is very much a hands-on role.
Must have:
- Proven experience deploying and managing multiple productive SharePoint 2013 Farms
- Capable of designing new Farms including capacity planning, then delivering them
- Strong knowledge of SharePoint's logical farm architecture
- Strong knowledge of the products major Service Applications
- Methodologies to synchronise SharePoint environments (eg Prod and Pre-Prod)
- Ability to work with Dependent IT teams to co-ordinate changes (networks, security, DBAs)
- Hands-on experience of major content migrations
- Demonstrable knowledge of both OOTB and third party tool options
- Strong PowerShell skills
- Capability of managing SharePoint exclusively via PowerShell if needed
- Ability to automate and version any configuration change via repeatable script
- Knowledge of the full-trust solution framework to the level of being able to deploy, manage and troubleshoot WSPs provided by a development team to a managed farm
- Demonstrable approaches to monitoring SharePoint environments to ensure good health
- Hands-on troubleshooting experience, including tracing performance issues
- Knowledge of security and encryption practices to secure farms and services
- Proven experience scaling SharePoint Search (millions of documents, schema management)
- Experience running a stretch-farm or similar non-trivial deployment (eg multi-geo)
- Knowledge of Documentum integration, especially with Search connectors
- Experience with DevOps
- Experience working in Agile project teams

Start date: 1st April 2017 or ASAP
Duration: initial contract 6 months+ (with option for extension, as this Position is planned on a longer term basis).
