For a long term project at our client, an international Banking company in Zurich, we are looking for aDatabase Administrator – MS / SQL for DC strategy implementation (3521)
The ideal candidate will be part of a team that provides subject matter expertise in relation to Sybase and MS SQL technologies.
Requirements
- At least 5 years' experience with Sybase / MSSQL Server in a production environment with database and ETL development, preferably within an Investment Banking and / or Wealth Management business or any similar financial services experience.
- Strong background in Sybase ASE, Replication server, MS SQL Server technologies, Operating Systems, Networks and Storage.
- Experience in performance tuning, query optimization, performance monitoring and tuning as well as in using Profiler and other monitoring and troubleshooting tools, Failover Cluster, and Database Mirroring.
- Knowledge of Sybase ASE 15.x, Sybase Replication Server 15.x, MS SQL Server .
- Experience in SQL Server Reporting Services installation, configuration and report creation as well as in SQL Server Integration Services package creation and deployment and DTS to SSIS migration.
- Strong TSQL skills including stored procedure and function creation and optimization.
- Knowledge of other RDBMS.
- Experience with cloud solutions such as Microsoft Azure, Windows Server OS, clustering and virtualization, Solaris and Redhat Linux.
- Basic understanding of financial products is a plus.
- Fluent in English, German is a plus
Responsibilities
- Responsible for configuring, managing and maintaining Sybase / SQL Servers.
- Own, track and resolve database-related incidents and requests within the SLA's
- Analyze and implement performance tuning.
- Provide on-call support and shift work for production databases
