For a longterm project at our client’s site, an global bank based in Zurich, we are looking for aWindows Server/VMware ESX Administrator (3324)
The designated candidate will be responsible for ensuring a smooth stable operation of the Microsoft Windows Server and VMware ESX Server infrastructure.
Qualifications:
- Completed apprenticeship in Information Technology or adequate education
- Several years of work experience in system administration of Windows 2003, 2008, 2012 and ESX / vSphere Systems in larger environments
- Practical experience in Incident-, Problem and Change Management, including root cause analysis
- Knowledge and/or experience in Systems Management Tools (e.g. BMC Patrol, ServiceNow), Virtualization (VMware), scripting (vbs / powershell) and ITIL is an advantage.
- Knowhow in system administration of SAN attached Systems
- Strong analytical and strategic abilities with solid implementation skills
- Excellent interpersonal skills and ability to work and communicate effectively with senior management and other stakeholders
- Knowledge of ITIL processes
- Powershell/PowerCLI knowledge would be nice to have
- Previous experience in a large enterprise
- Fluent in English, German would be an asset
Key Responsibilities:
- L1 / L2 Support and installation of virtual Infrastructure, incl. administration and maintenance activities for complex VMware ESX based server platform
- Lifecycle and migration activities (plan and execute)
- Performance analysis with ITPAM (Netuitive) monitoring and RVTools utility set
- Coordination of the specific tasks in Windows Servers e.g Build Upgrades and Patch Deployment
- L2 Support (Incident-, Problem-, Change-Management) of high available Windows and ESX server systems
- Support for integration of new systems and products, including support for projects through all environments from test to production.
- Quality assurance and acceptance tests for Windows systems, standard builds and software components
- Root cause analysis and implementation of sustainable solutions
- Support for Life Cycle projects
- Create, revise and update technical documentation
