Harvey Nash is looking for a NIBR Senior ESX System Engineer for a 6 month project in Switzerland.
The role is for a candidate to design, build, configure and administer virtual infrastructure.
You are responsible for
. Supporting and administrating VMware ESX server infrastructure including VMware Virtual Center and peripheral virtualization technologies in patching, backup, disaster recovery, and replication.
. Providing design, configuration and planning support for virtual infrastructure
. Executing change management and provide support for scheduled, planned maintenance
. Implementation and post-installation responsibilities include technical consulting to end-user community and other infrastructure team.
. Providing virtualization technology solutions to existing problems.
. Supporting virtual environment through issue troubleshooting and migration to future software versions
. Providing technical expertise for the planning and definition of new system requirements: performing feasibility and performance studies, including benchmark, capacity planning, sizing, etc.
. Supporting and improving system environment and services (ie capacity planning and automation
. Writing all related documentation (validation docs, systems proposals/recommendation, etc.
. Participating in and leveraging virtualization expertise to create a new company cloud management model utilizing new and existing automation tools
. Participating in data center efficiency improvements using virtualization technologies (P2V and VM density improvement)
. Participating in researching and testing next generation technologies such as HP Flex technology, and additional hypervisor
. Assisting in expanding clients' virtualization to global model and external cloud solution Requirements
. VMware Certified Advanced Professional 4 or 5 - Data Center Administration (VCAP5- DCA or VCAP4-DCA)
. 7 years of experience in Windows and/or Linux system administration in a global enterprise environment
. 5 years of experience of VMWare ESX management
. 2 years with hybrid cloud expertise ( AWS or other public cloud )
. PowerShell Scripting with PowerCLI
. Fluent in English
