Requirement:
• Perform POC on new database technologies/ features, document the processes followed and introduce the technology to the team.
• Provide guidance to Database Operations Team in implementing new technologies.
• Evaluate various tools available in market related to database monitoring performance troubleshooting etc.
• Act as an escalation point of contact and provide Guidance to DB Operations Team on performance troubleshooting if required.
• Ensure IT standards, audit and compliance requirements are understood, adhered to and well documented.
• Ensure IT operational documentation, build documents, processes and procedures are completed and maintained to a high standard.
• Make sure that we have a robust and resilient backup solution implemented across all our database technologies.
• Work with third party vendors to understand and bring in new solutions.
Responsibilities:
• Extensive experience with Database technologies and architecture.
• Good knowledge of High Availability (HA) and Disaster Recovery (DR) options for SQL Server including Always On and clustering
• Experience working with Microsoft Azure, SQL
• Experience in Database Performance Tuning
• Experience with Database migration from On-Prem to Cloud
• Experience working with DMA and other migration tools.
• Hands on knowledge on Database Encryption.
• Knowledge of Database Security best practices and standards.
• Ability to research and identify tools that can be beneficial to the team in improving service availability or proactive alerting.
• Knowledge on PowerShell.
