Senior JAVA Software Engineer
Are you an experienced Senior JAVA Software Engineer, interested in developing easy to use, completely greenfield cloud solutions for the financial industry? Are you interested in using JAVA 16 and 17 in a completely agile environment to build microservices based backends? Do you want to also contribute to the implementation of DevOps concepts including cloud deployment automation? If so this could be the perfect next Senior JAVA Software engineer job for you.
You will be joining a small team that has been around for 4 years having been created to help build new cloud based products for a fintech company that was widely regarded as a market leader in their space. The core application was a large monolithic app and this team was created to create brand new cloud based microservices JAVA applications.
As a Senior JAVA software engineer within this team, you will be responsible for designing, developing, automating and maintaining highly available, robust and secure client facing JAVA Wealth management applications. The team are strong TDD advocates, everyone in the team believe in testing first and everyone including the development manager are hands on cutting code. Technically, you are expected to have worked with at least JAVA 11 and have understanding and hands on experience with lamdbas, Multithreading and Java streams. Knowledge of reactive or functional programming is really a nice to have, but you are expected to have good core JAVA fundamentals. Alongside the above technologies, you will get to use technologies such as docker, kubernetes, elasticsearch, kibana and Kafka.
Given that this is a greenfield, start up-ish environment, you must be independent, creative and want to take ownership and responsibility for the design and development of these new tools.
