Big Data Engineer

Overview of contract
On behalf of our client, a leading financial institution in Zürich, we are looking for a Big Data Engineer to help build up a data platform that will deliver a single source of relevant data to the business.
We are looking for candidates with good knowledge of Big Data, Python and SQL. This is a 6 month contract based in Zurich.
Main responsibilities
- Design and implement the strategic Secret Zone compartment of the Data Platform (based on existing implementation)
- Prepare and enable operations/support for Data Platform usage of the Anti Money Laundering (AML) Use Case
- Design and Build dash boards for monitoring AML relevant data load processes on the Date Platform
- Implement data quality checks for AML relevant data sources on Data Platform
- Technical data engineer for Data & Analytics platform based on Kubernetes and Hadoop
- Involved in Design and Implementation of data architecture relevant topics across the common part of the data platform
- Strive to identify re-use potential across different data platform consumers
Your skills:
- 5-10 years' experience with Data Architecture/Data Engineering
- Working experience in Python, Kafka, Hive, Spark and Jupyter Notebook, Nifi, Flask, Bokeh or similar visualization tools, JSON schema validation, Kubernetes, Docker
- Hands-on Big Data experience using known tech stacks
- Reporting experience (eg Tableau, Power BI)
- Fluency in English
- Experience in regulatory project in financial industry is beneficial
- Solid Agile experience in Data related projects
