Our client is located in Zürich, Switzerland and with immediate start they are looking for Data Engineers to join their teams. This is a contract position and can be remote, but only within Switzerland.
Key tasks
- Responsible for creating and distributing ad-hoc reports across a wide range of solutions and in changing complexity levels that cater to varying business needs. We provide a standalone request & response service model as well as direct collaboration with data science teams to build up data solutions.
- Data assurance & profiling in sourcing, maintain & monitor data quality during data curation & transformations:
- Uphold high standards for timely ad-hoc report creation using SQL reporting tools
- Advise and support internal clients, analyze incoming requests, generate ad-hoc reports, check the results and distribute data extracts on time
- Collect and combine data from multiple sources, clarify data requirements, analyze for insights and produce requested information
- Using Front End and Back End tools to analyze incoming requests and verify, document for efficient auditing
- Data Engineering task such as building up data pipelines, retrieve and merge different data sources and models using Scripting languages
- Hybrid Cloud Journey: Provide available data capabilities in cloud environment; journey to deliver cloud-based/state-of-the-art data platform
- Knowledge of and in-depth interest to learn banking processes and associated data dependencies
- Close collaboration with Data Scientists to prototype Advanced analytics solutions
Skills:
- Knowledge of the inter-connections between banking products, processes and applications
- 3+ years of experienced in SQL Scripting and knowledge in Scripting languages (eg R, Python, Java)
- Strong analytical mindset
- Knowledge of Microsoft Azure
- Strong expertise in Data Warehouse structures
- Proven experience in ETL: Data Sourcing, collecting, cleansing, transformation, preparation and data validation
- Expertise and Knowledge of Data Pipelines and related Automation
- Understanding of Big Data Analytics infrastructure (experience in Spark nice to have)
- Consultancy and support into definition of datasets based on statistical knowledge
- Expertise/understanding in IT Infrastructure Library (ITIL) approaches
